Commercial Real Estate for Sale! Leadville's Old Bowling Alley Would Like Your Business
Not so long ago you could hear bowling balls rolling and pins clattering inside this building, because this building used to be a bowling alley.
But now, it's just a piece of commercial property for sale.
North America's highest bowling alley opens at 7 a.m. on weekends and is a mainstay in this mining town, where long winters can trap locals indoors from October through May. Long winters may explain the Water Moccasin, Strikes-N-Spares' favorite bar drink, a mix of Crown Royal, peach schnapps, sweet-and-sour mix, and a splash of Sprite.
We bowled two games, had a beer and enjoyed the large selection of pinball machines, video games, skee ball and table hockey! We rubbed elbows with the locals and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Fun local spot!
To the point, dive bowling with greasy spoon over priced food. Parking lot is at best dangerous unless you are a utility line guy with truck on lunch break playing an '80s game bring back memories of TX and childhood. Dark, metal building, over priced 'food' along with three (yes count them all) bowling integrated into pinball machine themed games. Better to drink and live there, than eat and travel through the dump.
Sadly, those lanes aren't there anymore. According to a source who prefers to remain anonymous and is definitely not a Leadville realtor named Amy Morrison, it took six semis to get all 12 lanes out of this place. Two per semi. Apparently they were shipped off to the land of Missouri and upcycled into tables.
Let's have a look inside now!
This is where the lanes used to be. Now it's pretty much just concrete. Watch out for all the random nails sticking up everywhere.
The next few images show where the snack bar, lounge, and arcade used to be.
Here's one of the four bathrooms you'll find inside:
And this is the kitchen area:
Like most places in Leadville, this old bowling alley has some stellar views of the mountains. You can see Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive in the photo below:
